Sandbag clean up is underway in the RM of Coldwell.

Reeve Brian Sigfusson says work will be started today to collect sandbags from across the RM. He explains where most of them are.

"Well we've got 4 sites, with roughly 720 bags per site and we're going to remove some of them that are spread along the shoreline. In the south most of them are spread on the shoreline, and in the north most of them are take off. There's a little bit left on, but not much. It's just put close by, but they're spread out."

Sigfusson is excited to see them go, but is still disappointed with the provincial government.

"It's great, and I hope we don't have to go through this again because it's just poor management by our provincial government before. They knew this was coming, and they didn't do enough. They could've given us more of a heads up, and could've at least stopped some of the damage but they didn't do that. It's supposed to be funded DFA (Disaster Financial Assistance) but you don't know, supposedly in writing we got it that they're going to cover it, but we'll see."

He adds they should be complete by next week the latest, and won't be working over the weekend.
