The Portage Rotary Club's helping Recreation Opportunities for Kids next week. President Cathie McFarlane says the club's going to the BDO Centre.

"Next week on December the 13th we will be participating in a community service event. We will be going to the BDO Centre at 12:30 and will be tying skates for kids that are participating the skate programs with the ROK association. They don't have enough adults to tie their skates."

McFarlane adds a group of adults usually help the kids tie the complex lacing for the children's skates, but R.O.K. is reaching out for non-profits and community groups to lend a hand, too. She says past president Shannon Moffat heard word about it and informed the club, and they're glad they can be of some service to R.O.K.
