The RM of Grey's taking a second look at its gravel program. Reeve Ray Franzmann explains.

"We were discussing where our gravel rates were," notes Franzmann. "We talked about whether we felt they were still appropriate after a couple of years. And we have actually brought in a fair amount of crushed rock from Stonewall over the last number of years. And we were trying to figure out a gravel rate for that."

These are rates they're paying for transport in order to receive deliveries.

He notes they never paid an actual rate before, but simply took what was the best price from companies who make deliveries. Franzmann says they came up with what they think would be a couple of fair rates. He adds there's not been a change in the rates for the gravel delivered from Rathwell, while deliveries from Stonewall are measured by the ton, with Stonewall being much further away than Rathwell. So, they'll see how their new program fits with delivery companies.
