Spring of 2016 played a real number on the gravel roads in the RM of Glenella-Lansdowne, giving rise to the need for repairs funded by this year's budget. Reeve Richard Funk says they overspent about $80,000 dollars.

"We overshot our gravel budget because our roads deteriorated last spring to a point where we really had to get out and do something about it," Funk says. "So we went over our estimated gravel budget and fixed our roads and made them so that the ratepayers could do their things."

Funk says it's not lost money seeing as the gravel purchased is still on the roads. It leaves them with money that doesn't have to be spent this year. He adds the overall gravel budget for the year is $300,000 dollars, and they'll consider one-quarter of that spent. Funk notes it should actually give them a gravel budget surplus this year.

Council agreed to send in a letter of permission for approval for the endeavour as a formality, indicating the money will be recovered from this year's budget.
