The RM of Armstrong has finished updating its emergency plan. Reeve Jack Cruise says they used to be part of a group of municipalities that were known as the South Interlake Emergency Measures Board, noting that particular board disbanded so now everyone has gone out on their own. Cruise says the RM of Armstrong hired a person to bring their emergency plan up to date as a separate entity and they've been working on it for several months. He adds the plan is now ready to go to the province for approval. Cruise says they'll still have agreements and Memorandums of Understanding with their neighbouring municipalities about providing assistance in times of need, but the new emergency plan is solely for Armstrong.
