Another Manitoba Threshermen's Reunion in Austin is in the books, and it's all smiles for coordinator Elliot Sims.

It wrapped up last night, and he calls this year's event phenomenal.

"We've had great crowds, starting with our kick-off event on Wednesday evening, with the RCMP Musical ride, right through to today, with Harvesting Hope. We've seen the biggest crowds we've seen in about 30 years, and it's just tremendous to see that kind of support from the community, and that interest level in rural Manitoba."

Sims is quick to point out Reunion organizers couldn't make the event happen without the contribution of corporate sponsors.

"We couldn't have done it without both from other heritage organizations, but also our corporate partners -- today's farmers and the corporations that help them with their inputs. Without all that support, this event couldn't have happened, and we couldn't have raised the funds we needed to help the Canadian Foodgrains Bank out with Harvesting Hope, or put on the Threshermen's Reunion and Stampede in general. So it's great to see that synergy alive and well, and going to new levels."

Sims adds they're already planning for 2017.

"We're very excited to be hosting for our feature next year, the John Deere line of equipment will be celebrating 180 years of innovation with John Deere machinery. And in 2018, we're going to be hosting the annual convention of the International Collectors' Club. So anyone who's got an International truck, a McCormick-Dearing threshing machine, or a Farm-All tractor, bring'em all down in 2018."
