The Red Trail CruiZers Car Club hit the streets last week for a good cause.

On July 2, members embarked on a journey beginning in Holland, stretching to Cypress River and Glenboro.

Past president of the club, Michael Shields, explains why they went out for the ride.

"People would come out to the car shows and visit. They weren't able to do that this year, so we decided to get out and show our appreciation for front-line workers and those who are shut-in their homes and can't get out. It was quite nice to see them at the end of their driveways in their lawn chairs, around town, and on their front step watching us. It was pretty good."

The group has previously held a ride for the Treherne Area. Shields says the July 2 ride was a success.

"That day, we had a total of 31 cars, plus the fire trucks and ambulances that were leading the way in both towns, which was nice. We drove by the senior's home and hospitals to show our support."

The group would like to thank local emergency services for joining in and leading the parade.
