Portage la Prairie RCMP is investigating two separate alleged assaults with weapons that occurred outside the east location of Tim Horton's Sunday evening.

RCMP media liaison Const. Sean O'Keefe says officers were called to Tim Horton's shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday, where two male suspects allegedly attacked a victim. A few hours later, around 1:30 a.m., police were called to the same Tim Horton's and a victim was allegedly assaulted by two suspects with bear spray.

"We have identified who we believe was involved in both incidents. Both are separate from each other," says O'Keefe. "But we're asking anyone with knowledge of the incidents to come forward and help us with the investigation."

"Whenever somebody's safety is at risk we want to do whatever we can to identify potential threats," continues O'Keefe. " We also want to make sure everyone is aware to keep themselves safe. If you are a victim of an incident of violence, please contact (RCMP). We want to be sure we keep everyone as safe as possible."

No arrests have been made in either incident. Both matters are still under investigation.

Investigators encourage any witness to contact the Portage la Prairie RCMP at 204-857-4445, should they have any information to assist with identifying suspects in either incident. Anonymous tips can be made through Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.
