Premier Brian Pallister made reference to climate concerns in Manitoba after the recent throne speech. Pallister says it's a serious concern for Manitobans.

"I want to be really, really clear on this. We have some significant challenges with respect to our environment. Unpredicted rain and excess rain is a common concern among agriculture producers across our province. And certainly, Saskatchewan farmers are no stranger to that reality."

He says Manitoba relies heavily on transportation and makes reference to unpredicted rainfall that cost a lot of money for that industry in the past. Pallister notes he refers to that problem whenever he illustrates just how climate change is beginning to affect our area. However, he adds, he's not a fan of arbitrary and top-down administrative decision-making, either.
