The school year's all but over in the Portage la Prairie School Division, and next fall will see some people in new positions.

Superintendent Hazen Barrett says Ecole Arthur Meighen School will see Kristen Zwarich take over as principal, from Ron Goodale, with Matt Harkess assuming Zwarich's role as vice-principal.

At Portage Collegiate, long-time Vice-principal Bob Kriski's retiring, and Rob Pehura steps into that position.

Barrett this happens every six to seven years, as people try new things. He sees people refreshed as they make changes in their careers.

Barrett adds they encourage staff to move around within the division, calling it healthy. He notes there were seven retirements this year, leaving positions to be filled.
