The People's Party of Canada may have lost in the riding of Portage-Lisgar, but candidate Solomon Wiebe considers his campaign a success.

Wiebe received over 8,700 votes, equating to roughly 20.4 per cent. He talks about the campaign.

"I think we had a respectable showing. 2nd place is nothing to be ashamed of," he says. "I have no regrets on this campaign. I gave it everything I had, left no stone unturned, and I don't think there's any more I
could've done. I have peace of mind and a clear conscience knowing that I gave it my all, and I did what I felt was right."

Wiebe has made significant gains for the PPC in Portage-Lisgar, considering last election nominee Aaron Archer received a total of 1,169 votes. He says every vote the PPC received was for their great candidates and policy.

"Nobody votes for the PPC because of their hatred for someone else, and our message of unity and mutual respect will continue. I'll keep working, and hopefully, we can bring that message to more constituents and improve on it next time."

The party was formed back in 2018 by current party leader Maxime Bernier.
