Students from both Yellowquill School and Westpark School will be taking home safety booklets this week. The safety booklets were put together by the Community Safety Network and the Royal Canadian Legion in Portage la Prairie is a main sponsor of the project.

Bob Oldford is the President of the Royal Canadian Legion in Portage and explains that they have been a sponsor and distributor for two years. He adds they were able to produce 200 safety booklets this year. The safety booklets are designed for the whole family, covering topics like bullying, being street smart, and being safe in the home. Oldford stressed the goal of this project is to make the community safer for children.
