This year's edition of the Portage la Prairie Rotary Club's Peace Ride is being deemed a success. Organizer Jim Brands says they were fortunate the weather remained good throughout the weekend's ride, adding they also had some new supporters this year. He notes a number of Mustang drivers also took part, as well as the youngest rider they've ever had. He notes the five year-old participant also managed to bring in the most money for the fundraiser.

"He raised the most money out of everybody, because instead of just paying his normal entry fee, he went around a took pledges when he road with his dad, so that was kind of cool."

Brands notes that on top of allowing non-motorcycles to take part, they also changed up their approach to the ride.

"We went out in two different groups this year. We went with the group of riders that wanted to hit the throttle a little harder than the rest. Then, we had the larger group that were just out for a nice ride and enjoying it. We took our time, watched for cars on the road and tried to let them fit in the best we could. All in all, it was a great day."

He says he also took the opportunity to speak with the riders who took part, to help come up with ideas to improve the event in the future. Overall, Brands says it was another great year for the fundraiser, and hopes to see the event continue to grow in the future.
