The William Glesby Centre's first coffee house of 2017 takes place this evening.

Executive Director Carolyn Gray explains Northern Lights is an amazing show made just for Portage la Prairie.

"It is combining a light show, that is apparently going to transform the Glesby Theatre into something you've never experienced before, and playing music while that is going on is going to be this unique combination of local musicians and music students."

Northern Lights is the brainchild of PCI's James Reynolds and Gray notes it showcases the musical talent here in Portage.

"It's someone like James Reynolds, who is really connected in the music community here, who has the ability to pull in talent, young and older, [and] bring them all together for a show. It's such a great opportunity for young people to get this experience."

The show begins at 7:30 at the Glesby Centre.
