The RM of West Interlake can now receive hazardous waste. Deputy reeve John Wainwright says the RM just provided a new means by which they can receive the material.

John Wainwright"We have a new hazardous waste building we built over the winter," says Wainwright. "It's now open for all hazardous waste. It's located just south of Eriksdale at the Eriksdale Waste Disposal Grounds. So, if anybody has any old paints, or chemicals or e-waste, they should bring it here. This is a regional facility."

He notes nearby communities including Grahamdale, Ashern, and Lundar will all use the facility. Wainwright says they're almost ready to roll, and hopes people take advantage of the site and bring chemicals and toxic substances as well as e-waste. He explains e-waste consists of old computers, laptops and printers, etc., that are deposited for recycling.
