A new superintendent's been chosen for the Pine Creek School Division.

Bruce Lyons will take over from the retiring Brian Gouriluk July 1st.

Pine Creek School Board Chair Diedrich Toews says the Division's delighted.

"We have had a wonderful superintendent up to now, and I'm thinking we're just going to continue with that, with Bruce coming on board. He's spent recent years as a consultant with the Department of Education. And he's had a 36 year career in the field of education, with being principal, and being resource teacher, and having regular classroom experience."

Toews says Lyons will begin his orientation into the new job May 1st.

"By working with our present superintendent, he'll be getting familiarized with the schools, and with the teachers, and the general direction that the school division is going. He's very willing to do that, and Mr. Gouriluk is very willing to assist in making sure that Mr. Lyons is familiar with our division."
