It's been a month since a new manager of the Central Plains RecPlex took the reins.

Mark Austin says it's been a great thirty days.

"I hope to bring my experience from working in corporate leisure in London, England to Canada," he says, "My wife is Canadian, so we moved across together. It's been fantastic so far. It's a lot of new procedures and changes, and hopefully develop the service a lot more, and progress the business."

With a month on the job under his belt, Austin has some ideas for the future.

"Aiming to bring in fitness classes," he says, "And a program called Junior Gym, which is going to help 11 to 15-year-olds get access to fitness and sport, through supervised sessions. So, aiming to combat social exclusion and youth obesity, and work with the community on that."

Austin's originally from Scotland, and tells us a little about his background.

"The past five years I worked at the UK's largest leisure company, in London," he says, "And progressed through the company, and we eventually planned to move to Canada"
