Since opening their business at the beginning of the year in March, right before pandemic shut downs began to roll out, Breaker 16 has seen a lot of support and encouragement from the community.

“We’ve had nothing but positive feedback from customers,” says owner, Lynn Reimer. “They all feel like this is something Neepawa and area was lacking.

Breaker 16 is an equipment rental company, offering rentals for concrete tools, power tools, equipment like skid steers, backhoes, and lifts, and more. They carry the best equipment and tools by brands such as Milwaukee, Hilti, Bisset Fasteners, and Echo.

After opening, Reimer says that the business did very well, but the most challenging part was getting their name out there, especially once new COVID-19 restrictions came into place.

“We have noticed that during code red, and now during the provincial lockdown of non-essentials, business has slowed down considerably,” explains Reimer. “Our biggest success so far is being able to keep our doors open.”

Since many people are spending more time at home, the demand for tool and equipment rentals is still high, which has kept Breaker 16 going strong.

“We’re trying our best to find products and equipment for our customers, and are planning to continue to build on our product lines and build a stronger business for 2021,” says Reimer.

For now, rentals are available through Facebook online orders and curbside pickup.
