Infrastructure Minister and Midland MLA Blaine Pedersen held a meeting Thursday night in Treherne with reeves and mayors from the ten municipalities in the constituency.

Pedersen explains it can be difficult to catch up with all the municipalities at their council meetings and Thursday's conference was a way for him to do so.

"We had a good round-table discussion of issues that are affecting each of their own municipalities and also Manitoba issues in general and issues that they all have in common."

He explains some of the highlights from the discussions include the natural gas proposed project in the constituency as well as the Indigenous and Municipal Relations' Bridge Program.

Pedersen notes the evening had a successful outcome.

"I certainly appreciated being able to sit down with the municipalities. They all expressed thanks, in fact, I had a couple of calls back from the municipalities that were very appreciative of the efforts to sit down with them. So it was a really good thing."

Pedersen adds they will continue to hold such meetings moving forward.
