The RM of Portage la Prairie has a new addition to its staff. Andrea McCabe is assistant CAO, and shares her feelings about her first impressions in her new role.

"I started August 2nd. It's a very busy office, and lots to learn. Have some big shoes to fill with Val Cutting leaving. I'm trying to get as much information from her as I can. I'm hoping I can do a good job."

McCabe says she formerly worked with the City of Portage la Prairie.

"I was the administrative assistant for the operations department. I was there for six years."

"It's huge for me. Definitely. There's so much to learn in the position. Just with variations and subdivisions, and the water projects that are going on. I'm very very thankful that Val's here to walk me through some of those things before she leaves."
