With about half of the evacuated Long Plain First Nations residents having returned home, people are hard at work to get the remaining residents back home. Terry Daniels has been working on some of the homes that were affected by the tornadoes over the summer. He notes they have worked on a few houses so far but the homes with more significant damage are yet to come.

"This is I think the third or fourth house we have worked on for roofs. We've done some soffit and fascia on some of them. The next one is probably the biggest one we are going to be doing. It's a full reno. The inside of the house is more or less destroyed. Everything had to be ripped out."

He notes the dropping temperatures add an extra bit of pressure.

"Last I had heard there was 40-some houses that needed to be assessed for damaged. They are trying to get everything outside before the winter and then pretty much do everything on the inside of the houses that were damaged or flooded."

Daniels notes there are still some details about contractors that are being sorted out. He says he and the rest of his team will be hard at work as long as they are needed.
