Expect to see law enforcement running along the Crescent in Portage la Prairie tomorrow. It's the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Dakota Ojibway Police Service Sergeant Kristin Tompsett explains the details.

"Ours is at 2 p.m., and we're doing a 4.2 km run from the Keeshkeemaquah Confereance & Gaming Centre, along the Crescent and up 3rd St. to the RCMP detachment. Last year we had about 60 law enforcement participants, including their family. We also had some athletes come out as well."

RCMP Constable Sean O'Keefe shares his thoughts on the event.

"It's a great opportunity to bring awareness. The athletes in the community, it's a great way to support them. A great way to bring about awareness for the event. It's just nice to see the community come together in these instances."

O'Keefe is hoping for a big crowd.

"That would be great. It's going to be a leisurely run, nothing competitive. We're doing 4.2 km's, and if had people come and line the Crescent to cheer us on, or jump in and drop out, that would be excellent as well."

Sergeant Tompsett encourages everyone to come out and participate.
