There's one last chance for you to sign up with your friends and co-workers to get a little bit dirty for a good cause. The Portage Community Revitalization Corporation's Portage the Prairie Dirt Dash takes place September 24th. While registration was ended last week, the PCRC is in the midst of a last-call for online team registrations.

They're going to close the final registration for a team Friday at 11:30, which PCRC Community Facilitator Victoria Olson says will help address those who weren't able to sign up during the initial registration period.

"We kind of started to get a flurry of emails and questions from people saying their team members didn't sign up. We definitely don't want to turn anybody away, so we opened our registration for three days, it's like a flash sale if you're joining a team."

Currently, the event has more than 25 teams registered, as well as numerous individual runners over the run's 17 heats. While you can only register for a team until tomorrow night, Olson says individuals can sign up the day of the event, but the cost will increase by ten dollars.

"You won't be running with pre-scheduled heats, you'll kind of be going at the end of the day with all of the other individuals who showed up for the day of registration. This is just a last chance to get on the team you want to be on."

She says there's a lot of excitement surrounding the event, adding she's grateful for the sponsors, volunteers, and those who are building obstacles to ensure the event is a success. Olson feels that support really shows the community's understanding of their work.
