The BDO Centre for the Community in Portage la Prairie recently received a generous $2,000 donation from the Kozy Korner Seniors Centre.

Shane MoffatPortage Community Centre President Shane Moffat explains he received a phone call from one of the ladies at Kozy Korner who informed him they were thinking of making a donation to the centre.

"So she asked me if I could come down to her apartment, they were having a tea down there and they were looking at maybe giving a donation to the BDO Centre. I got her address and I went down to her apartment. So, I sat around with the ladies and they had tea and they proceeded to give me $2,000."

Elaine Cairns from Kozy Korner explains they decided to make the donation to the BDO Centre as they need it for their upcoming renovations. She says $2,000 is a small pebble in a big pail for the renovations but it's a start, adding these renovations to the centre will help to benefit future generations.

Moffat notes it's a great gesture which goes a long way for the BDO Centre. He adds the ladies from Kozy Korner have made donations to the centre before, among other community organisations, and it's always great to work with them. He notes a big thank you goes out to Kozy Korner for their contribution.
