Crowds filled the Canad Inns curling rink yesterday to support Canadian Tire's Jumpstart Day. Jumpstart Community Partner Lynne Parker gives details on the event.

"We have a lot of fun things going on for the kids. We've got the petting zoo, bouncy castle, face painting, balloons, all sorts of carnival games and the barbeque. This year we are Canad Inns because Mother Nature wasn't really cooperating. We though "You know what? We want to make this happen." We are so glad Canad Inns partnered with us and said "Let's use the curling rink."."

Jumpstart board member Nick Hourie says putting on a event of that size wouldn't be possible without the help of many hands.

"It takes a lot to put on an event like this and it wouldn't happen if we didn't have partnerships with the local businesses, especially Canad Inns for letting us use their facility to host this event. A huge thanks to all of these guys; Craig Dunn, Westward Ford, Point West, Shewfelt's, NAPA, Ricklyn Farms, Chicken Chef, Bryson's, Tim Hortons and McDonalds for their donations to make this event possible."

All of the proceeds from the event go towards the Jumpstart program which gets kids off the sidelines and into the game without having the financial worries that come with sports.
