Among the encouraged attendees at this year's Association of Manitoba Municipalities meeting in Winnipeg was Minister of Indigenous and Municipal Relations Eileen Clarke. Clarke had been absent from some previous meetings.

"It was a unique opportunity going back to AMM after two years being away. Certainly within my role as Minister of Indigenous and Municipal Relations it was a great experience. I had the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues from the past and also meet up with a lot of the new council members that were there since the past election."

She says everyone had the general feeling they held great meetings, noting individual ministers had meetings with many of the municipalities in private to discuss their particular concerns. Clarke notes she was co-moderator with president Chris Goertzen. She adds it was especially great to have all 12 cabinet ministers present with the premier.
