The Viterra Provincial Men's Curling Championship is less than a week away from hitting Stride Place in Portage la Prairie.

Organizing Committee Promotions Chair Jared Munro says things have been going well on their end, and the excitement is clearly building around the community. He says there's going to be a lot of work to get the main arena ready for next week's action.

"The head icemaker Greg Ewasko and his crew are going to take over the main arena at Stride Place Friday at noon," says Munro. "They'll be working through the night and over the next several days to get the ice ready for curling."

Munro said in a previous interview they had 320 volunteers signed up to help out, and they're prepped and ready for next week's bonspiel.

"Tickets are on sale so people can go down to Stride Place at the reception area to get their tickets. I really think that everything is running well."
