Hot Chocolate, sleigh rides and — of course — Santa Clause.

All of that, and more, was on tap at the annual Children's Christmas Party at the Portage Friendship Centre (PFC) in Portage la Prairie yesterday. Kids also enjoyed holiday themed movies, colouring and games. PFC executive director Shirley Bernard says about 100 people came out to party celebrating the season.

"That's low numbers compared to some other years," Bernard says. "But with this weather, it's great. It's certainly cold out."

In between saying "Ho, Ho, Ho," and hearing gift requests, the main man himself, Santa Clause, caught up with Golden West Radio reporter Mike Blume. Jolly old St. Nick says he was happy to help all the kids get into the spirit of Christmas.

"I've just come to greet the kids after their party, and get them into the spirit of the season. But I think I have more fun than they do." Santa says. "Merry Christmas!"
