Rides, entertainment and a parade were all to be found in Lundar this past weekend at their annual fair.

Lundar Agricultural Society Treasurer, Arlene Brandson Darknell, says the fair was a huge success, noting she has never seen the grounds so full. She shares some of the highlights from the event.

"We had a very nice parade. Our parade was long, it was about 45 minutes, so that's definitely a highlight for the town. We had Past the Perimeter playing [Friday] night at the Beer Gardens. We just have a lot going on," explains Brandson Darknell.

The fair also featured some new events, which Brandson Darknell outlines.

"Each year we try to have a different show in the beef area. This year we had a dairy show sponsored by the Minerva Beef Club," she explains. "We also had Enns Brothers sponsoring a Kids Zone in the curling rink for children eight and under, and we also had a Show and Shine with public judging."

Another new addition to the fair grounds was the brand new arena.

"It has been a great asset," says Brandson Darknell of the arena. "It allows more washrooms, of course. We served our annual beef dinner out of there and our entertainment was in there this year. It's been a great venue for that."

Brandson Darknell adds she'd like to thank all the volunteers and people who support the fair each year.

"That truly is what makes the fair," she adds.
