The William Glesby Centre's Coffee House series begins tonight in Portage la Prairie. Executive Director Carolyn Gray says it's a first for her.

"I'm delighted. It's a different concept. I've seen big concerts now; I've seen Ray Martin which was incredible; we had the hit live stream. And now this is my first more intimate coffee house show. And the tables are all set up now, and it looks really cozy and fun."

Gray explains Northern Reflections is the entertainment for the evening.

"They have never heard the, but they're apparently the best loved festival band around. They popped in the other day to say hello. And they've played every small festival in Manitoba. He was just listing off the stream of them -- Morden Corn and Apple, and there was a Plum festival, and another festival. And they were voted the best loved."

If you've never been to the Coffee House at the Centre, Gray points out what you can look forward to.

"I think it would be a lovely way to come and hang out at the Glesby centre and get to know what we do. It sounds and it looks cozy and casual. We have free snacks, free coffee, hot fresh popcorn. And we have our incredible group of welcoming volunteers."
