Question: How much money was raised this week in MacGregor for a new playground structure at the Elementary School?

Answer: Over $3,000!

A successful trivia night was held in the school gymnasium earlier this week, raising over $1,000 alone.

This is the old structure being replaced.

"It went great," says Caroline Wiebe, President of the school's Parental Advisory Council. "We had a good turnout as (this was) our first one so we were really happy with it. I think everybody had a great time."

She says a charity hockey game was held on Louis Riel Day, and that event raised $2,000 for the playground structure. She says they have a way to go.

"We expect the final project to cost at least $65,000," says Wiebe. "That's similar to the first structure that we replaced."

Wiebe says they expect the project to take 2 to 3 years.
