Fort La Reine School's Grades 4-6 students took part in a French Culture Celebration Thursday.

"Kids got to enjoy an afternoon of French cuisine and crafts," says teacher/coordinator Brenda Baker. "They started the afternoon with poutine. Then we did some activities and the (French) dance, we also did a craft. After that, we had our quiche and crepes, with crème de la crème and grape juice to finish it off."

"It was fun because I never got to do it before. Last year we didn't get to do it, so I had a lot of fun. My favourite food dish was the poutine for sure."

"What surprised us was we forgot that last year we only had 60 students, this year we had 80," adds Baker. "So we had to do some juggling to get them all organized in the gym, but once we were all set up things went really well."
