Portage la Prairie firefighters were called out to a two vehicle accident this morning shortly before 6:00.

The accident occcured on Highway 1, just off Highway 13.

One of the people involved in the accident fled the scene and was pursued by RCMP and a K-9 unit. Reasons for the person's flight are unknown.
