The Tupper Street Family Resource Centre's holding a positive discipline parenting program that's been held only once before back in April 2016. In-home support worker Jenifer Link says it's a different form of discipline.

"If a parent has been using physical discipline and they're wanting to learn a new way to discipline their children without using physical discipline, this would be a good program," explains Link. "And also if a parent is just not really sure what form of discipline to use this would also be a good program."

She explains the program helps parents understand long-term goals and helps provide structure for their children, understand how kids think and feel from early years until 18, and helps parents solve problems and use positive discipline rather than physical or emotional discipline.

It takes place every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. til noon at the Tupper Street Family Resource Centre location and ends May 24th. Wednesday, April 12th is the last open session, and following sessions require registration.
