Feed Other Countries Undo Starvation, or FOCUS, is all set to harvest some crops today.

Treasurer Tony Peters says they're going to get going this afternoon, at their field near Oakville.

"This is not a very large field. It's about 40 acres, and the organization here has roughly 300 acres, so we've got a few fields to go. This one, because it was so close to the highway, and people were always interested in how we do this, we decided to have this one open to the public."

He explains what you'll see if you head down.

"People can come and watch, there will be refreshments after we're all done. There will probably be 3 or 4 machines there to see how it goes, and make a lot of dust. If they're nice they may even get a ride in a combine if they're there on time."

He adds the government is going to be matching the funds raised, which will really have an impact.

"If we put this into perspective, 40 acres looks like it's going to be a high yielding field -- and by the time you put in the Federal Government matching funds in at 4 to 1 -- you can feed a lot of people in a hard hit area of the world."

The harvest starts at 2 p.m. just outside of Oakville.
