Officials with the Town of Carman and R.M. of Dufferin continue to get a newly formed Economic Development Committee off the ground.

Carman Councillor Richard Dyck has been appointed Chair of the group and says the set-up process has been going well, noting members started with the basics.

"We wanted to create the new structure for our organizational by-law, we wanted to work at the job description for the Economic Development Officer."

He explains that this new job description will require Tyler King to direct more of his attention to economic development and take-on an advisory role with regards to the Carman-Dufferin Planning District.

"He has a lot of experience and we rely quite a bit on that."

King will also now report to this new committee instead of each individual council.

The Carman-Dufferin Economic Development Committee was established to help local officials become more engaged in economic development.
