Portage la Prairie RCMP are investigating an incident in the LUD of Oakville where what is suspected to be a stolen vehicle from Meseyton Construction was involved in a break-in at the Oakville bar. Community liaison officer constable Sean O'Keefe outlines the report.

"Approximately at 1:40 am the Portage la Prairie RCMP received a call of a break and enter at the Oakville Bar. A white pickup truck reportedly smashed into the front entrance of the bar, and at least two suspects wearing some dark clothing an made off with an ATM in the vehicle. It wasn't until later in the morning at approximately 7:00 a.m. when the RCMP also learned that Meseyton Construction had also been broken into, and one of their construction trucks had been stolen. So, we believe the vehicle that was stolen from Meseyton's is the suspect vehicle in the break and enter in the Oakville Bar."

RCMP are following up with security footage from both scenes, and are processing evidence they recovered from the scene to determine if there's anything to which they can link a suspect.

O'Keefe adds, "We always defer to the public. Somebody out there now knows who did this and we're hoping that they might be able to come forward and help us put these people before the courts."
