Everything you need to know about starting a business. That's what's being presented at the Economic Development Workshop taking place at Dakota Tipi First Nation next Monday. Dakota Tipi Economic Development Officer Clinton Pashé explains everyone's welcome.

"It's going to be exciting for people who want to start a business within their community, and in their first nation, also. We're going to have a presenter coming from Community Futures in Winnipeg, Deborah Smith (Aboriginal Business Service Network Coordinator). She'll be the one facilitating this program. It starts at 9:00 am til 3:30 p.m."

Pashé outlines what's they're offering you.

"To have the knowledge to succeed in their journey of life as a business person, or entrepreneur -- aboriginal or non-aboriginal are invited. It will be a great experience. And we can seek funding for seed money for your business. We can also present your business plan to other companies and other agencies, and seek funding for grants and loans from across the province and the country."

Retail, industry, and anything from baking to hair dressing will be discussed, as well as starting a summer student venture program.

Pashé says if you're interested in presenting your business ideas for economic development, they have room for you to lead a presentation class by contacting them at (204) 892-0519.

He notes meals and refreshments are provided, and the free event takes place at the gaming centre meeting hall at Dakota Tipi First Nation.
