Next Monday's Portage la Prairie City Council meeting will start with a public hearing about an initiative the City wants to take for upgrades to the water pollution control facility.

Councillor Melissa Draycott says they're looking at a Public/Private Partnership Procurement to accomplish that, and a public hearing starts the process.

"That is for anyone who wishes to make a representation, ask questions about that process, or register an object to the Public/Private Partnership Procurement. If you have any questions about what that entails, what the project is looking at, then you can always go to the City website, or you can go to City Hall."

Draycott says this is an important meeting.

"We decided that we wanted to look at this. It looks like the best viable option for the City, moving forward, both for the citizens and for the city itself. And so a little bit different than we're used to, but the public hearing itself is something that's very important for us to get feedback."

The public hearing begins at 6 o'clock, Monday, September 12th at City Hall.
