There's a new Club Snow president in Portage la Prairie, Tony McIvor, and he says it's an exciting time to be involved in the local snowmobile club.

"We've got one of the biggest trails in Manitoba -- over 400 kilometers we're looking after. It's a big area to maintain. And we've got a great bunch of folks in the club who are willing to step up to the plate and take care of business. I've been in the club for quite a few years and just thought it was an opportunity that arose to give it a whirl."

McIvor provides us a trail condition update, including the great preparation time during the earlier warm weather that enabled them to get all of their signs up. He notes the heavy, wet snow that followed allowed for a good ground-base to be formed. With all of the recent blizzard snow, McIvor adds, they're all set to groom the trails.
