The RM of Grahamdale has two extra sets of hand this summer when it comes to city maintenance. Reeve Clifford Halaburda explains the Green Team program gets young people helping out around the RM.

"It's a program that is put out for two students that we get and they help with maintenance. It's a program for the young ones, the younger generation. I think a lot of municipalities have that in Manitoba."

He explains the green team program is a great way for younger people to make some money on their summer break.

"They help with maintaining grass cutting within the town sites, helping with regular maintenance with the maintenance crew, putting up signs, other small jobs like cleaning up certain roads and the beach area. They go there to help clean up. It's a good system."

Halaburda notes it's great to get young people out helping improve their community, adding it's a great alternative to hiring more full time workers for just the summer.
