Classes from Westpark School in Portage la Prairie provided some spiritual encouragement to our city officials this week.

"The students from Westpark School toured City Hall," says councillor and waterworks chair Wayne Wall. "Each group was given the name of a city councillor. They were going to say a prayer for us and bless us to help us in our work, and they made gifts for us. Without knowing that I was waterworks chair, they somehow envisioned me taking thirsty people to drink at a fountain in the middle of Portage."

He says the class gave him a fountain with rocks and vials containing little notes written with attributes including kindness and generosity. Wall explains the fountain can be plugged in and water flows over the rocks and vials. He adds it's a wonderful gift and he's writing a thank-you letter to the grade three class. He notes it left him with chills down his spine.
