Donations are needed for the Gladstone, Plumas and Langruth Christmas Hamper Program.

Coordinator Wayne Sanderson says they partner with Neepawa Salvation Army to help get hampers out to those in need over the holidays. Sanderson says there's a few places you can donate, including elementary and high school, local Elk Clubs and Churches in the community

"It will all come together around (Dec. 12-13)," Sanderson says. "We sort all the food we have, and (for) what we're missing, we go to the local Co-op, which works closely with Salvation Army in Neepawa, and then place an order for everything we're missing."

He says right now they have about 23 applicants for hampers, which he expects to grow.

"Last year we were at 29 or 30 applications, and the deadline is the Dec. 9 -- next Monday," Sanderson explains. "And I'm expecting by the time we get there we'll probably have the same or even more than last year."

"We do Gladstone, Plumas and Langruth, and our standardized food hamper list is the non-perishables that go in. We don't ask for donations of meat of perishables, so we buy them all through the Co-op."
