The Portage la Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce is on the move.

As of April 1, the Chamber will base its operations out of the Portage Plains United Way Building, at Tupper Street and Saskatchewan Avenue, the organization said at its annual general meeting yesterday.

“United Way approached me because they have space in their office and thought it would be a really good fit,” Chamber of Commerce executive director Cindy McDonald says, noting both organizations will share an administrator. “When they approached us I thought it was a fantastic idea and so did our board.”

“We're very excited and I think it's going to be a great fit for us. It's a great spot, very visible.”

The Chamber is currently located in the former Portage Regional Economic Development building on Royal Road, which has since been sold.
