With the school year winding down, many graduating students are looking toward post-secondary education. With that, comes dealing with tuition expenses.

The Community Foundation of Portage and District reminds students they have seven bursaries you can apply for, but the deadline's May 15th. Executive Director Mary Lynn Moffatt outlines some of what's available.

"We have bursaries that cover students that may be going into the medical care field, education field, business," she says, "We also have a bursary that was established to support a young person taking their commercial flight training."

She adds they also manage a number of bursaries specifically for Portage Collegiate grads.

"That are managed by the Foundation through funds that have been established by individuals in the community. The PCI bursaries are all handled through PCI. When the funds were set up, the donor asked that it be a student from PCI that would receive the award, and we just work with them on it, because they know the students who fit into the various categories."
