The Carberry Agricultural Society recently received a service excellence award from Tourism Westman. President Alan Christison says it was very gratifying for their organization to be recognized for delivering an exemplary visitor experience, noting they have many hard working volunteers who donate a lot of hours each year to put on their annual fair. Christison says this year the fair will be held July 7th through the 9th and there'll be a variety of entertainment for all ages, adding their goal is for everyone to have a great visit while not emptying the wallet at the same time. He notes they always try to make the event economical and family friendly.

Christison says the Ag Society has been nominated for the Tourism Westman awards before, but this is the first time they've won. He notes in addition to their wonderful volunteers they have great support from the entire community, whether it's borrowing a piece of equipment from a farmer or all the sponsorships they get from local businesses. Christison adds the fairgrounds and the fair wouldn't be what they are today without the efforts of the whole town.

He says everyone is welcome to come down to the fairgrounds July 7th, 8th and 9th to enjoy this year's event. Christison notes they boast it's the largest small town fair in Manitoba, adding they can definitely back that up because there's so much to do for every member of the family.
