A Fashion show was held in Portage la Prairie last night at Canad Inns, and was put on by Central Plains Cancer Services. It featured models who are cancer survivors.

Sharilyn Knox by the silent auction table"This is kind of our signature event. It is a fundraiser for us, but most importantly it's celebrating these wonderful models who are so courageous in coming to do this for us," says executive director Sharilyn Knox. "We have twelve models and they're each going to have three outfits from each store. A couple have done it before. Most have not. We have a silent auction and a 50/50 going on."

Connie Morris and Colleen Flynn were two of the models. Morris says she used to help with the silent auction, was diagnosed, completed her treatment, and is currently in remission, noting it's a great sequence of events. Flynn adds it's fun to participate in the show, noting she enjoyed picking out her outfits and seeing which looked and fit best.
