Burning bans put in place earlier this month and late last month are starting to be rescinded. Weekend precipitation, along with foliage beginning to become greener have alleviated some of the concerns associated with burning, leading to the Municipality of Norfolk-Treherne and the RM of Victoria to rescind their burning bans.

While some municipalities are beginning to once again allow open burning, others may need to wait a bit longer. While the Municipality of Norfolk-Treherne can implement or rescind a burning ban at the discretion of the fire chief and reeve, other areas require the decision to be made at a formal meeting.
