Southern Health-Santé Sud is putting out a survey with the goal of getting more information about patient values from people in the region.

Community engagement facilitator Trish Braun explains the end goal of the survey.

"What we're hoping to do in the end of the survey is to create kind of a one-pager which would have the top priorities and top values that people have identified and use that with staff to try and start conversations about what's important to our public and to our residents and how that can change how we do our work."

Braun says the survey centres around what is important to people when visiting the hospital.

"When you are in a hospital or you are dealing with your primary care provider what things are the most important to you? So there's statements and you have to rate as 'most important' or 'less important' for each of them. It's only about 33 statements, it's quite quick, it's probably five minutes you can complete it in, and in the end it ranks what values are associated with each of those statements."

If you'd like to complete the survey you can visit southernhealth.ca or give Braun a call at 326-6411 extension 2218. The survey runs until the end of October.
