Big Brothers Big Sisters of Portage la Prairie's Bowl for Kids wrapped up at Southport Lanes yesterday afternoon.

"We had so much fun this year," says Executive Director Dawn Froese. "Dr. Seuss was such a great theme. People really got into it, they dressed up, we had Horton here, Thing 1 and Thing 2 were also here. Everyone was laughing, some of the newcomers came out. Everyone just had a lot of fun."

22 teams took part in the event, with over 40 people being involved.

"My expectations were definitely exceeded for the day," adds Froese. "The money will be going toward mentoring programs, helping more of our kids in our community get a mentor and improve their life."

Bowl For Kids raised over $16,000 and Froese says they're still expecting a little more.
